The programs he led resulted in multiple regulatory approvals and generated >$9B in value through licensing and acquisitions. Preston received his MD from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and both his nephrology fellowship and MHS from Duke University.

Prior to his role as CSO at Cavalry Biosciences, Tim held research leadership roles at Encoded Therapeutics and UNITY Biotechnology (NASDAQ: UBX), advancing translational programs in CNS disorders, fibrosis, and age-related disease. He earned his PhD in Cancer Biology from Stanford University and completed postdoctoral training in neurodevelopment at UCSF. With expertise in cell biology, neuroscience, growth factor biology, and translational pharmacology, he applies a strategic, science-driven approach to developing next-generation medicines that harness the body’s ability to heal itself.

Michael is an experienced life sciences leader across private and public companies. He has scaled companies, directed a public offering, advanced U.S. and ex-U.S. product launches, and executed a broad range of licensing transactions. He previously served as Chief Business Officer at Velia and held senior roles in business development, strategy, and commercialization at AstraZeneca, Amgen, Amylin, Orexigen, PhaseBio, and Metacrine. He holds an MBA from the University of Redlands and a BA in Public Administration and Economics from San Diego State University.

Kristin has 25 years of biopharma experience with leadership roles at Escient, Zafgen, Orexigen, and Amylin. She led programs in rare and common forms of metabolic disease, as well as other indications, contributing to FDA/EMA approvals of CONTRAVE®, BYETTA®, and BYDUREON®. She holds a BS from the University of Virginia and a PhD in Biochemistry from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and completed postdoctoral training at UC San Diego.

Prior to Cavalry, David served as Executive Director of HR and Operations at UNITY Biotechnology (NASDAQ: UBX) and Director of Corporate Business at Sapphire Energy. In nearly two decades of work in biotech, he has helped scale startups to 100+ employee companies, managing HR, finance, and operations. David received an MBA from UC San Diego’s Rady School of Management and an AB from Harvard.

Alice is a senior biopharmaceutical leader with more than 20 years of experience driving innovation and delivering operational excellence. She has led global clinical trials across diverse therapeutic areas, enabling successful regulatory progress and strategic pharmaceutical collaborations. Alice held leadership positions at Escient, Zafgen, and Emerald Bioscience. Alice holds a BS in Economics from UC San Diego.

Prior to Cavalry, Rob worked with UNITY Biotechnology (NASDAQ: UBX) and completed post-doctoral work at the Buck Institute, where his research focused on using biochemistry and proteomics to understand developmental biology and neurodegenerative disease. He has over a decade of experience in regulatory affairs, drug discovery, biomarkers, and bioinformatics, and therapeutic protein design. Rob holds a PhD from UC San Diego and a BS from the University of Vermont.

During 30+ years of CMC experience, Doug has held leadership roles developing multiple drugs, including NEULASTA®, ENBREL®, VECTIBIX®, PROLIA®, XGEVA®, NPLATE®, and KYBELLA®. Recently SVP of CMC at AnaptysBio, Doug has also worked with Applied Molecular Transport (NASDAQ: AMTI), UNITY Biotechnology (NASDAQ: UBX), Kythera Biopharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: KYTH, acquired by Allergan), Boehringer-Ingelheim, and Amgen. He holds a BS in Biology from USC and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Prior to joining Cavalry, Brit investigated mechanisms of neurodegenerative senescence at UNITY Biotechnology (NASDAQ: UBX). He holds a PhD in Cancer Biology from the University of Virginia and conducted postdoctoral work at UCSF. He also holds an MS in Molecular Biology from the University of Oregon and a BS in Biology from the University of New Mexico. He has authored publications for such journals as Cell and Nature and is the author of multiple patents.

Beth is a molecular physiologist recruited to University of Florida as Preeminence Professor in 2015, after 15 years at Penn. Her research aims to improve skeletal muscle regenerative capacity in neuromuscular disease, aging, and after acute injury. Her work over the last 25 years has championed insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) as a key player in muscle regeneration. Beth earned her BA in Biophysics from Wellesley College, and her PhD in Physiology & Biophysics at University of Washington.

Currently CSO at BridgeBio Oncology, Pedro has also served as Head of Biology at UNITY Biotechnology (NASDAQ: UBX) and Executive Director at Amgen. Pedro holds a BS in Molecular Biology from Florida Tech and a PhD in Cancer Biology from the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He was awarded a Lois Pope Fellowship from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. Pedro has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and abstracts and holds multiple patents.

Jamie is currently the Jack H. Skirball Endowed Research Chair and Professor of Ophthalmology and Biomedical Engineering at UC Irvine; Associate Editor for Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science and The Ocular Surface; and serves on NIH/NEI peer review panels. His current research focuses on age-related meibomian gland dysfunction. Jamie trained at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and completed fellowship training at the Doheny Eye Foundation and the National Eye Institute, Bethesda, MD.

Jan was a member of the faculty at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, where he also served as Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In 2011, Jan co-founded UNITY Biotechnology (NASDAQ: UBX) and, in 2021, Cavalry Biosciences. Jan earned his PhD in Cell Biology at Nijmegen University, the Netherlands, and is an inventor on 17 granted patents.

Zach is a Partner at Mission BioCapital where he leads investments and supports portfolio companies through interim executive roles. Zach earned his PhD at Harvard Medical School in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, where his collaborative work was recognized by AAAS as Science’s 2018 Breakthrough of the Year. Zach earned his BS in Biology at the George Washington University.

Before co-founding Cavalry, Ned co-founded Syrrx (acquired by Takeda), Achaogen (NASDAQ: AKAO), Kythera Biopharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: KYTH, acquired by Allergan), UNITY Biotechnology (NASDAQ: UBX), companies that together created four approved medicines (ALOGLIPTIN®, TRELAGLIPTIN®, ZEMDRI®, and KYBELLA®). Ned earned his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology at UC Berkeley and his AB in Biology from Harvard College. Ned is an inventor on 70 allowed patents.

Kevin previously served as President and CEO of Longboard Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:LBPH; acquired by H. Lundbeck); and EVP and CFO of Arena Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ARNA), acquired by Pfizer. Before that, he spent ten years focused on healthcare investing at TPG. He currently is Chairman of Apnimed and a board member of Avalo Therapeutics (NASDAQ: AVTX). He holds a BS from Stanford and an MBA from UCLA Anderson.

Cami represents Venrock on the Cavalry board. Cami spent 25 years as a Partner at Venrock and Versant Ventures and continues to serve on various boards. She led investments in Corvidia (acquired by Novo), Kythera (NASDAQ: KYTH, acquired by Allergan/AbbVie), RegenXBio (NASDAQ: RGNX), and many others. She was also a board observer at Genomic Health (NASDAQ: GHDX, acquired by Exact Sciences), Jazz (NASDAQ: JAZZ), and Syrrx (acquired by Takeda). Cami studied Biology at Duke and has an MBA from Harvard, graduating as a Baker Scholar. She is an Aspen Institute Henry Crown Fellow and an advisor to both Harvard Business School and Duke University.
